Antonin-Tri Hoang

Form, time and melody are central to Antonin Tri Hoang’s current preoccupations. The form, he seeks to shake it up with the quartet November, where the different compositions are endlessly remodeled, reduced, simplified or degenerated, through the process of mounting scores where the viewer’s memory is directly targeted. Time, he approaches it naturally with all his projects, in particular with the commission for France Musique “5 synchronies”, where he studies five different ways that time passes by in a 2-minute interval, or with the Watt clarinet quartet. In 2018, he created the show for young audiences Chewing Gum Silence around these questions.
