As part of its activity, the association Umlaut, whose head office is located at 95 rue des Poissonniers, 75018 Paris, is required to collect and process a certain amount of personal information. Umlaut attaches great importance to respect for privacy, and only uses data in a responsible and confidential manner and for a specific purpose. For your information, the nature and use of your personal data are detailed below.

What data?

On the website umlautrecords.com, there are two types of data that may be collected:

1- Data transmitted directly

These data are those that you send us directly, via a contact form when you buy from the label’s catalog or when you subscribe to our newsletter. The fields “first and last name”, “address” and “email” are compulsory in the contact form.

These data are used to ensure the proper processing of your order and in order to contact you if necessary, or finally to give you our news if you wish to subscribe to our newsletter.

2- Data collected automatically

In accordance with the recommendations of the CNIL, Umlaut has set up a banner that appears when you enter its site. It refers to a page which specifies the purpose of the cookies used, tells you that you can oppose these cookies and reminds you that continuing to browse constitutes agreement to the storage of cookies on your device. After your consent, the computer server that hosts umlautrecords.com, like most sites, automatically collects information from you.

Once your consent has been given, we can collect “web analytics” type information relating to your browsing, the duration of your consultation, your IP address, your browser type and version.

This data is collected anonymously (by recording anonymous IP addresses) by Matomo software, and allows us to measure the audience of our website, visits and possible errors in order to constantly improve the user experience. The technology used is the cookie.

All of this data is used by Umlaut, data controller, and will never be transferred to a third party or used for purposes other than those detailed above.

Which cookies?

As mentioned above, Umlaut uses certain cookies for the proper functioning of its site. Here is the list of cookies used and their purpose :

1- Functional cookies

They are used to record data useful for browsing and using the website from the user’s computer (allowing, for example, to record the preferred dimension of the page in a list). These cookies, called session cookies, are automatically deleted at the end of each navigation.

2- External service cookies

We have integrated videos and audio clips from external platforms (Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud) into our site, so it is possible that these external platforms place cookies on your computer when you click on video and audio players, and send personal data collected at their own servers.

For more information on the privacy policy of these platforms :

If you do not want to receive cookies, you can set your browser to alert you when it receives cookies or to refuse them out of hand. However, this setting may change your browsing on our site, such as making it impossible to read videos and audio clips.

What regulations?

With its head office in France, Umlaut is exclusively subject to French regulations on personal data and to the opinions issued by the National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL).

Personal data is only collected after mandatory user consent. This consent is validly collected (buttons and checkboxes), free, clear and unequivocal.

The data will be saved for a maximum period of 3 years.

You have the right to consult, modify or delete all of your personal data. You can also withdraw your consent to the processing of your data.
