Trio fond\u00e9 en 2014, Un Poco Loco continue de (re)visiter son histoire personnelle du jazz, peut-\u00eatre un peu folle mais surtout tr\u00e8s lib\u00e9r\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9ponyme Un Poco Loco et Feelin\u2019 Pretty consacr\u00e9 au West Side Story de Leonard Bernstein, Fidel Fourneyron, S\u00e9bastien Beliah et Geoffroy Gesser ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 affirm\u00e9 une identit\u00e9 musicale forte, d\u00e9montrant si besoin que les traditions n\u2019\u00e9taient pas moins honor\u00e9es dans la libert\u00e9. La critique ne s\u2019y est pas tromp\u00e9e (avec notamment une victoire au prestigieux concours Jazz Migration) ; le public encore moins. Pour ce troisi\u00e8me album, le trio remet le couvert avec un nouveau r\u00e9pertoire illustre \u00e0 r\u00e9inventer, celui de Charlie Parker !<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans Ornithologie, les compositions de Bird deviennent pour le trio d\u2019abord un h\u00e9ritage : celui des solos l\u00e9gendaires de Parker, leur \u00e9vidence m\u00e9lodique, leur swing \u00e9ternellement actuel. Mais plus qu\u2019un h\u00e9ritage, le r\u00e9pertoire du ma\u00eetre du bebop est le terrain de jeu pour d\u2019innombrables occasions de r\u00e9inventer ces th\u00e8mes dont les possibles n\u2019avaient pas \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9puis\u00e9s. \u00c0 la fa\u00e7on des boppers, Un Poco Loco prend un plaisir intens\u00e9ment et musicalement lib\u00e9rateur \u00e0 rediriger ces musiques vers une infinit\u00e9 d\u2019autres directions. Celles qui surgissent \u00e0 chaque d\u00e9tour du r\u00e9pertoire du Bird dans cette ornithologie qui ne se r\u00e9sume pas en mot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tout comme ne se r\u00e9sume pas la complicit\u00e9 communicative d\u2019un trio sachant d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment sonner comme un orchestre ou comme un seul homme. De cette unit\u00e9, ils tirent les ressources d\u2019une musique faisant exploser dans le jeu les potentialit\u00e9s des timbres et des improvisations, obligeant chaque instrumentiste \u00e0 se d\u00e9multiplier dans une infinit\u00e9 de r\u00f4les et de vocabulaires. Sans nostalgie trop obs\u00e9quieuse et au plus pr\u00e8s de l\u2019\u00e2me vibrante de la musique de Bird, Un Poco Loco r\u00e9ussit le pari d\u2019ouvrir ces th\u00e8mes imp\u00e9rissables vers une nouvelle \u00e9coute que personne, sauf eux, n\u2019avait imagin\u00e9e.
