« These four notes should be played « as written » (according to dynamics, articulation, tempo, ethos, « style » etc – any octave addition can be done) and repeated multiple times. There should be a silence of always more or less the same length between each repetition. At each repetition, the final note should last a bit longer than the previous beat, until that final note lasts a very long time. At each repetition, the performers should introduce variations if tone « in » the final note. When the final note starts to be long, they should explore diverse possibilities and combinations of all kinds of spectral alterations during this note, creating sound « projections », « protuberances », beats, decorations etc »
