The first release by Pierre-Antoine Badaroux features a 45 minutes-long original composition. A work-in-progress based on very simple ideas, this is a sound-world of its own. Deeply rooted in jazz rhythmical ideas and the open scores tradition, this work blends improvisation and composition in a very unique way. This performance — one of an infinity of possible ones — gives to the listener an insight to the composer’s voice, but also to the very peculiar approaches of the young musicians of this sextet, all ver y active in the contemporary european music scenes.
The score of the piece is available from Umlaut Scores, here.
Recorded February 2012, mixed and mastered in Paris by Pierre-Antoine Badaroux
Artwork by Raffaelle Bloch
