Shelly Blake-PlockShelly Blake-Plock (b. 1974) is a musician, artist, and teacher from Baltimore. Since c. 1995 he has released a wide variety of musics ranging from lo-fi folk to noisy art rock to theatrical sound art to free improvisation. Recently his work has revolved around a reinterpretation of musical theatre form and experimental approaches to musical narrative. A member of the Red Room Collective, he is on the board of the High Zero Foundation and has organized arts and music events in North America and Europe for Public Health Music and DIY Mummy. A member of the Dept of Fine Arts at John Carroll School, Blake-Plock also teaches occasional courses and workshops in social tech and education at Johns Hopkins University School of Education. Shelly lives with his wife and children in a very old house along the Patapsco River and likes to pass the time by strolling along the railroad tracks humming the songs of the universe. |
