Hannes Lingens

Hannes Lingens is a musician and composer in the field of contemporary and
experimental music living and working in Berlin.


He studied drums with Michael Griener and Günter Baby Sommer in Dresden and
Accordion with Henning Schober in Hamburg. 


In 2009 he co-founded the collective Umlaut Berlin, which curates an annual 
festival for contemporary and experimental music and is part of the international
label and network Umlaut Records.


Most frequent collaborators are Pierre Borel, Derek Shirley, Johnny Chang and 
Hannes Buder. 


He also works regularly with improvisors like Tetuzi Akiyama, Lucio Capece,
Christof Kurzmann, Olaf Rupp, Matthias Schubert, composers Peter Ablinger,
Antoine Beuger, Philip Corner, Sven-Åke Johansson, Christian Kesten and
many other musicians, dancers, directors and performers.


Hannes Lingens has performed in internationally renowned festivals and venues
throughout Europe, Japan, Israel, Russia and the USA.
